Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the company is selling off some of the cars it makes for $50,000 apiece and offering some of them for $10,000.
Musk says the stock it sells now, valued at $50 billion, will likely fall in value soon and that it is taking a $25 million chargeback for its vehicle sales.
The company said Wednesday it sold a total of 5 million vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2017, up from 4.2 million the year before.
The average price per vehicle sold in the U.S. is $35,000, according to Autotrader.
The cars the company sells for $15,000 are its Model S sedan, Model X SUV and Model 3 sedan.
Musk said they all make it to the customer within 90 days.
